Gay couple take romance to new heights with treetop proposal (VIDEO)
An explorer planned to propose to his long term boyfriend in a dizzyingly unique way.
Kevin McLean – an explorer and ecologist for National Geographic – has carved a career out of setting up camera traps in order to capture the lives of animals who dwell high above the world’s rainforests.
Recently, he decided to use his skills in a rather unique way when he decided to capture a once in a lifetime moment between himself and his boyfriend.
McLean hatched the plan after he invited his partner Dan along on a trip to Panama on one of his many treetop expeditions.
After witnessing Dan’s excitement over his first ever climb, his partner realised it would be the ideal moment to propose.
McLean quickly climbed up the tree to prepare not just his boyfriend’s safety rope, but also set up a camera trap.
However, what he had not counted on was Dan coming up with the same idea…
“Just as I was about to go into my little proposal, he surprised me and started proposing to me first,” McLean said.
While preparing for his first climb, Dan had also been planning the exact same surprise for his beloved partner.
“I asked him he would like to adventure for the rest of our lives together,” Dan said.
“He said ‘of course’ and then he was like ‘and as a matter of fact, I also have something to ask you.’”
Luckily, the camera trap caught the adorable moment for the rest of us to enjoy.
