Demi Lovato to be honoured with GLAAD Award
Music star Demi Lovato is to be honoured by GLAAD at the organisation’s upcoming awards ceremony.
The 23-year-old star will be the latest to get the Vanguard Award at the upcoming GLAAD Awards.
Previous recipients include Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson and Kerry Washington.
The 27th GLAAD Media Awards will be held at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles on 2 April.
Lovato last year spoken about her sexuality, insisting that “love is fluid”.
The 23-year-old singer songwriter has been coy about her sexuality, recently telling Alan Carr that she is “not confirming or denying” that one of her songs is about sex with a woman.
She has been a long-time supporter of LGBT rights, having campaigned for equal marriage, including becoming the face of the HRC’s campaign in 2014.
Lovato earlier in 2014 provoked anger from Russians, after two of her male back-up dancers, one naked apart from a picture of President Putin’s face covering his genitals, shared a kiss onstage at her concert.
