Clean Bandit star ‘bored and appalled’ by Olly Murs ‘20%’ gay reveal
Neil Amin-Smith has hit out at the former X Factor host’s comments regarding his sexuality.
Olly Murs hit headlines yesterday, after discussing his sexuality during an interview centred around his love life.
The ‘Troublemaker’ singer was responding to a quote by Grimsby star Sacha Baron Cohen, who said he was 31% gay recently.
“I’m probably the same, or maybe 20%,” Murs told The Sun.
While many Twitter users responded excitedly to the news, others were puzzled and even offended by Murs bizarre comment.
Murs himself was quick to hit out at the quote, telling fans: “Don’t just read the headlines.”
Well, it seems Neil Amin-Smith took his advice – he read the whole article – something which seemed to anger only anger the classical music star further.
“I did read more than the headline & I was still a curious mix of bored & appalled,” he wrote.
“@ollyofficial pls fast-forward 2 ur musical theatre career.”
The isn’t the first time the violinist has called a fellow celebrity out on social media.
Just last month, he attacked Sam Smith following his Oscar win, accusing the singer of “talking crap” during his Oscar speech.
The ‘Rather Be’ star went on to share a quote from Smith in which he said that people shouldn’t make an issue of their sexuality – describing it as a “monstrous snippet”.
He also recently took to Twitter to hit out at people who express their adoration towards him in a decidedly sinister fashion – by saying they want to “rape” him.
The pop star said using the term as a “compliment” – an increasing trend on social media – was “gross” and “f*cked up”.
Disgusted by the barrage of violent comments he has received, he tweeted: “there is not anything flattering, cute or attractive in being told by someone that they want to rape you. it’s gross and fucked up.”
