Minister totally shuts down ‘ironic’ Christian arguments against homosexuality (VIDEO)
A minister has taken the stand against the “irony” of Christians turning their backs on LGBT people.
Episcopal minister Rick Ward Harder spoke at a hearing in Texarkana about repealing ordinance which protects LGBT people.
He said it was “ironic” that those who claim to be compassionate Christians would consider repealing laws to protect LGBT people in the name of God.
In the video, which is going viral, he said: “Let the leaders of Texarkana, Ark., follow leaders in Little Rock, Fayetteville and Eureka Springs.”
“You all can be leaders on the right side of history.”
The minister travelled from Hot Springs in Monday in order to testify to the Texarkana board.
M-130, an anti-discrimination ordinance, passed on 19 January by directors.
Dozens, including the minister, signed up to speak for and against the law.
This comes in the same week that North Carolina passed a sweeping bill which voids local ordinances protecting LGBT people from discrimination.
