Caitlyn Jenner to join cast of Amazon’s Transparent
The creators of Amazon’s Transparent have announced a new cast member.
Caitlyn Jenner, the Olympian and step-parent to the Kardashians, will join the cast of the hit series.
The announcement was made by the show’s creator Jill Soloway at the GLAAD Awards last night in Los Angeles.
She said Jenner will appear alongside Jeffrey Tambor in scenes which will start filming later this month.
The third season of the series will start filming later in April.
Jenner’s reality TV series ‘I Am Cait’ tied in the scripted reality category for the GLAAD Awards last night with I am Jazz, which follows 15-year-old Jazz Jennings.
She tweeted a photo of herself alongside Transparent star Judith Light, which read “So excited”.
Transparent also won at the GLAAD Media Awards for Outstanding Comedy Series.
Lilly Wachowski, co-director of the Matrix trilogy made her first public appearance since coming out as trans, as Sense8 was given the Outstanding Drama Series award.
Other winners at the GLAAD Awards, which took place in Los Angeles last night, included Demi Lovato who won the Vanguard award, and Ruby Rose, who was presented with an award by Taylor Swift.
Soloway – who also produced Six Feet Under – came out during a recent interview, and revealed she is in a relationship with poet Eileen Myles.
