Jinkx Monsoon brings hit stage show to London
The Drag Race star is set to dazzle UK fans as she brings her his show to the London stage.
Drag-comedy sensation and Season 5 winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race, Jinkx Monsoon is travelling to London alongside her cabaret co-star Major Scales.
The pair are taking to the stge for the UK premiere of their rowdy musical-comedy, The Vaudevillians.
Monsoon won the hearts of drag fans everywhere, after stealing the crown in two years and becoming the quirkiest winner of Drag Race to date.
After winning the coveted title, Monsoon joined Major Scales on stage to perform The Vaudevillians for a sell-out and six-time extended Off-Broadway run.
The show has since completed a major tour of Australian festivals in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Adelaide and Hobart and opens to Soho audiences in April.
A concept cabaret show, The Vaudevillians sees Jinkx Monsoon and Major Scales portray a 1920’s duo in a slapstick comedy fans will adore.
The star will reprise her role as Kitty Witless, alongside composer and musician Scales, better known as Dr. Dan von Dandy.
A synopsis for the show says: “Famed across the American burlesque and speakeasy circuit for their original vaudevillian style, the performers were tragically frozen alive in an avalanche whilst performing in Antarctica.
“Now, thanks to global warming, they have thawed and returned to the stage nearly 100 years later to discover lesser artists passing off their greatest hits as their own.
“Featuring a set list including “Girls Just Want to Have Fun”, about the suffragettes, and “Drop It Like It’s Hot”, about the invention of the electric iron, The Vaudevillians perform their top hits as originally intended in an evening of vintage cabaret with a twist of drag.”
