Season 2 trailer for Grace and Frankie arrives (VIDEO)
The second season of the comedy series will premiere next month.
The Netflix comedy series stars Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin – who previously appeared together in the cult classic 9 to 5 – as two women left abandoned when their husbands Robert and Sal, played by Marin Sheen and Sam Waterston respectively, declare their love for each other.
The first season debuted earlier this year to broadly positive reviews, and fans were delighted when it won a second run.
Season two sees the ladies’ ex-husbands now married to each other, with their families more integrated than ever.
The unlikely friends – who initially couldn’t stand one another – continue their struggle to make sense of single life in 2016.
New additions to the cast include Sam Elliott who plays Fonda’s new love interest.
Sadly, there is still no sign of Fonda and Tomlin’s 9 to 5 co-star, country legend Dolly Parton, who fans are longing to see make a cameo in the show.
Tomlin has said she doesn’t hold gay actors to a “strict expectation” to come out, and understands why some choose not to.
The actress, who shot to fame as a comic in 1969 before later finding success with cult hit films like Nashville and 9 to 5, never had a grand ‘coming out’.
However, she has quietly spoken about her sexuality for a number of years – and married her long-term partner Jane Wagner on New Year’s Eve 2013.
Meanwhile, co-star Fonda recently revealed that she nearly married a “very famous actor” before he came out as gay.
She said: “When I was young, I was the female that gay guys wanted to try to become heterosexual with.
“A very famous actor who’s gay – and I will not name names – asked me to marry him.”
