A new book claims that Kris Jenner tried to get her spouse Caitlyn to “pray away” her gender dysphoria before she transitioned.

In the book, ‘Kardashian Dynasty: The Controversial Rise of America’s Royal Family’, author Ian Halperin quotes a “longtime friend of Jenner’s”.

The biography, which makes some pretty serious claims against Caitlyn Jenner, also continually misgenders her, using male pronouns and her former name.

According to the “friend”, the couple, then married, had spoken to an NCAA coach who had been in touch with Caitlyn recently, who had said Kris Jenner “had influenced him to suppress his desire to be a woman for all those years. ‘She told him he should pray,’ he reveals, ‘that church could help heal him.”

Halperin says the exchange sounded “suspiciously like ‘conversion therapy.”

He goes on to write that “the idea of using religion to suppress homosexuality has a troubling history associated with evangelical Christianity, especially during the 80s and 90s, when the idea gained momentum in various Christian ministries throughout the United States.”

Another supposed friend of the Jenners, accuses Caitlyn of using her transition to deflect away from negative publicity surrounding a car crash in which she was involved which left one woman dead.

The friend tells Halpin: “Before Bruce got into the accident, he gave the world hints about his true sexuality… After the accident, he went full steam ahead. I truly believe he was trying to misdirect the negative publicity he received after the car crash….it was clear he was worried about being charged.”

Kris Jenner recently said she’s ‘thankful’ she never doubted her gender – and turned to God to deal with her ex-spouse’s transition.

Caitlyn Jenner publicly came out as transgender last year – but recently revealed she first tried to transition decades ago, before meeting future wife Kris Jenner.

The former Olympian explained that Kris Jenner had banned her from presenting as female during their marriage, adding: “The rules with Kris and I were, ‘Don’t dress up, certainly around the house.’

“If you really need to do that, when you’re on the road, take stuff and do that.”

Kris, having been silent on the former Olympian’s transition, eventually broke her silence to say she thought it is  “amazing”.

In January, Caitlyn Jenner settled in a lawsuit over a car crash which killed a woman.

In February 2015, shortly before coming out as transgender, the former Olympian and TV reality star was involved in a car pile-up on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, which killed one person and injured seven others.

Jenner has faced legal action on a number of fronts over the incident, with the family of deceased woman Kimberly Howe filing one lawsuit, Hollywood talent manager Jessica Marie Steindorff filing a second, and a family of five who were injured filing a third.
