We don’t think this anti-gay pastor is taking his PayPal boycott entirely seriously

Given they’re suddenly so outraged with PayPal, the hardcore religious right sure do love using their services.

The company has seen a backlash from anti-LGBT activists after opting to axe a planned HQ expansion in North Carolina over the state’s new anti-LGBT law.

But despite telling “anyone with half a brain” to avoid PayPal, it turns out homophobes have a hard time following their own rules – with the Family Research Council using a PayPal donations system itself.

It turns out they’re not alone – and anti-gay pastor James David Manning has it up one step further by condemning PayPal… while a ‘give via PayPal’ message was literally on screen below him.

The pastor of the soon-to-be-defunct ATLAH Worldwide Church in Harlem, New York spoke out in a video stream.

He said: “PayPal has pulled 400 jobs. North Carolina is now under threat. I think we gon’ drum up support for the Tar Heels state.

“We cannot let this stand. These people are vicious, these sodomites.

“They’re fighting us here at this church as well. The people of the churches are letting them do this.”

However, his message was slightly undermined by the message on screen – which read: “Please help support our ministry by giving your tithes and offerings! Go to atlah.org and give using PayPal!”

Oops.
