Apple fanboy plans to stop gay marriage by fighting to marry his Macbook
A hardcore Apple fanboy has renewed his bid to marry his Macbook – as a protest against same-sex marriage.
Chris Sevier, a lawyer and self-described EDM (Electronic dance music) producer, filed a lawsuit against the state of Texas this week.
In it, he claims his right to tie the knot to his computer is the same as any gay couple’s right to marry.
He writes: “The question is, should we have policies that encourage that kind of lifestyle?
“The state is not doing anyone any favours by encouraging people to live that lifestyle. We have to define marriage.
“[This lawsuit] is not a matter of who’s on the right side of history.
“This is about who is on the right side of reality. Are we just delusional?”
Harris County district clerk, Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton are named in the suit.
Paxton – who strongly opposed equal marriage himself – has filed a motion to dismiss the case.
The Attorney General wrote: “The right to marry one’s computer is not an interest, objectively, deeply rooted in the nation’s history and tradition such that it qualifies as a protected interest.”
Sevier has a history of filing ridiculous frivolous lawsuits: he sued Apple in 2013 for supposedly causing his porn addiction, and sued Utah in 2014 also on ‘marriage’ grounds.
Apple CEO Tim Cook is openly gay.
