Brent Corrigan accuses Hollywood of ‘bastardising’ his life
The star has attacked King Cobra, which is based on his early years in adult film.
James Francoās new porn drama received critical acclaim when it premiered at this yearās Tribeca Film Festival ā but not everybody is happy with the film.
King Cobra is based on the real life murder of gay porn baron Bryan Kocis ā the boss of Cobra Videos who died in 2007.
Disney star Garrett Clayton plays Brent Corrigan ā real name Sean Paul Lockhart ā a famed porn star for the company who starred in a number of high-profile adult films.
However, the real Corrigan/Lockhart has lashed out once again at the production, accusing Hollywood of ābastardising my early years in pornā.
āIts not about me,ā he wrote on Twitter.
āThese filmmakers didnāt care about anyone but their take on it all (and not getting sued).ā
Corrigan said he would set the record straight in his upcoming book Incorrigible.
āIt doesnāt matter what A list celebrity is involved. The screenplay & content didnāt jive. I passed it up,ā he added.
This isnāt the first time the actor has criticised the film.
Before its release, Lockhart revealed that although he had been approached to star in the film, but didnāt want to take āpart in someone elseās presentation of events.ā
āEven with the time that has passed, the memories are still very real and raw for me.ā
āI look forward to finally telling my story, beginning middle and end, with an earnest stroke. Thanks for being so patient, everyone!ā
Justin Kelly, who directs the film, said the creative team wanted the scenes not to āshockā, but to be āunapologeticā.
āWe wanted to make it as unapologetic as possible,ā Kelly said in an interview with The Wrap.
āI didnāt have a desire to shock ā itās a part of the story. Myself and the actors discussed from day one that you canāt shy away.ā
