Messing, who starred opposite Eric McCormack in the hit sitcom, posted a picture of the handwritten note on Twitter.

ā€œD.M, You + Eric got me through my tough coming out years with ā€˜W+Gā€™!

ā€œSo glad you fly with us. Thanks for everything! ā€“ Nickā€

Messing responded to the message by saying she was ā€œso gratefulā€ to the grateful fan, before tweeting it to McCormack so he could see it for himself.

ā€œA note from a Flight Attendant. So grateful. @EricMcCormackā€, she wrote.

Last year, Messing said that she regrets that the trailblazing sitcom wrapped up when it did.

The show ā€“ one of the first mainstream sitcoms to focus on gay life ā€“ aired 194 episodes across eight seasons between 1998 and 2006, and has been credited with helping to change public perceptions on LGBT issues.

However, Messing ā€“ who played lead Grace Adler on the show for all eight seasons ā€“ says she regrets that the show did not go on for longer.

When asked what she would change about the show, she said: ā€œI guess I would change the fact that we stopped [the show] after eight years.

ā€œIt was such a happy time, and we were all really exhausted by that point and it was the right thing to do at that time, but now obviously time has passed, and I watch the show with my son who laughs at it and I think it wouldā€™ve been really great to do it a few more years.

Messing ā€“ who recently hit out at Susan Sarandon over the US presidential race ā€“ recently shared her heartbreak at missing out on the cast reunion.
