Harry Potter star is unrecognisable after dramatic career change (VIDEO)
Fans were shocked by the star’s drastic transfiguration.
Harry Potter fans were in for a shock this week, when it was revealed that a fan favourite has made quite a dramatic transformation.
Josh Herdman – who played Draco Malfoy’s sidekick Goyle in a all eight Potter films – has moved on from casting spells to throwing punches as a professional MMA fighter.
The former actor made his amateur debut last weekend, beating Polish opponent, Janusz Walachowski, at the City Pavillion in London.
The child star later spoke of his new career and what he loves about it most.
“I’ve been training traditional Japanese jujitsu for nearly five years and hold a shodan black belt,” he told The Mirror.
“It’s raw, exciting and unpredictable,” he added.
“I find it more interesting than boxing although I appreciate the beauty and art in boxing.
“It also made sense to move onto MMA because of my jujitsu training.”
Herdman’s former co-star Daniel Radcliffe was also in the news this week after expressing outrage at the inequality that still exists in acting.
Radcliffe has said he simply cannot understand why there is such a pay gap between men and women in Hollywood.
The actor made the comments in an interview to the Australian Daily Telegraph, saying: “It’s nuts to me”.
Producers of the upcoming prequel to the Harry Potter films – Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them – recently hinted at Dumbledore’s inclusion in the story.
The follow-up to the popular wizarding franchise, is set in the same universe as Harry Potter but takes place decades earlier, following the adventures of author Newt Scamander (played by Eddie Redmayne) in 1920s New York.
