The new trailer has arrived for the fourth season of Orange is the New Black.
After waiting a year for the release of the next season, OITNB fans are thrilled to hear that not only is the next bout of episodes almost ready for viewing, but that the show will be extended for three more seasons.
The official trailer was released by Netflix yesterday, with many implications for what the next season has to offer.
Season three was dramatic, tense and somewhat controversial for viewers, with Stella (Ruby Rose) cutting in on Piper (Taylor Schilling) and Alex’s (Laura Prepon) relationship.
It is unconfirmed as to whether Stella will return for the upcoming season.
However, there may be a continuation of the Alex/Piper plot line, as Prepon told E! News: “The Alex and Piper relationship is so awesome.
“It’s so tumultuous…they love each other a lot. It’s this crazy relationship, there’s never a dull moment.
“I don’t know if two people like that could ever ride off into the sunset, but we’ll see what happens in season four. There’s no shortage of stories to tell”.
The cliff hanger of season three that left viewers on the edge, as a newly-hired corrections officer, a henchman sent by drug kingpin Kubra ,corners her in the greenhouse.
Though Alex is not seen during the trailer, her voice is heard at 0:55, implicating that she will hopefully survive the stand-off.
Prepon confirmed that she will not be leaving the show anytime soon, when fears spread like wildfire with the finale of season three.
The trailer also reveals that Sophia (Laverne Cox) remains in the SHU (solitary confinement) for season four.
This season will continue to divulge a storyline regarding transgender suffering in prison. Sophia was placed in the SHU by Caputo (Nick Sandow) supposedly for her own protection, where she will remain until he sees fit to release her.
