Colton Haynes becomes real life superhero as he rescues fan
The Arrow star won praise after stepping in to help a fan during a comic book convention.
Colton Haynes recently stepped in to help a fan who was suffering from a seizure attack at a comic book convention.
Louise Dempsey was attending the City of Heroes 2 event at the Hilton Metropole hotel last weekend when she suddenly had seizures.
“Luckily my sister-in-law was behind me and caught me. I had two seizures in a row. I came out of one and went into another one,” she told the Birmingham Mail.
“Colton was behind me and, at one point, he had his arms around me.
“He was telling me that it was going to be OK, not to cry and not to get upset about it,” she explained.
“He actually helped me up as well. They took me outside for some air and a guy who was with Colton came outside and helped me.”
“There was a medical student also helping me. They calmed me down and made sure I was OK.”
Dempsey later tweeted Haynes her thanks – saying she may even get a tattoo in her hero’s honour.
Haynes recently opened up about living with “terminal anxiety”, during an interview in which he also confirmed that he is gay.
He explained that he has suffered from anxiety problems his whole life and attributed the condition to his breaks from Teen Wolf and Arrow.
“I asked to step away because I cared more about my mental and physical health than my career at the time,” he said.
“I’ve had terminal anxiety my entire life. Physically ill, fainting. I’m 27 years old, and I have an ulcer. I had to step back.”
The star has been praised for his relaxed approach to questions about his sexuality in the past, after casually revealing he is gay on Tumblr in January.
