Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner wants Sansa Stark to ‘swing both ways’
The actress thinks her character should reconsider her approach to love.
After enduring relationships with the twisted Joffrey Baratheon and evil Ramsay Bolton, is it any wonder that actress Sophie Turner thinks her character Sansa Stark should consider an alternative approach before entering another?
“In the Game of Thrones universe, I think she’s going to have to swing the other way – because the men thing isn’t working for her,” the actress told EW.
And who would she like her character to end up with?
“Judging by Sansa’s relationship with Margaery… probably Margaery,” she continued.
“Or Arya because I’d like to see that happen. I’d love a love scene between Arya and Sansa.”
And it seems that the actress who plays Margaery – Natalie Dormer – is keen to see more LGBT love in Westeros too.
Dormer plays the Queen on the HBO fantasy series, while Finn Jones plays Margaery’s brother – gay knight Ser Loras Tyrell – who has often been the centre of the show’s gay sex scenes.
Recent seasons have seen evangelicals known as the Sparrows take over King’s Landing – cracking down on homosexuality and sexual sins, taking both Tyrell siblings captive for their supposed impropriety.
During a recent interview, the actress suggested that Westeros need its own branch of gay rights charity Stonewall.
“We need a new House with a new sigil and a rainbow banner,” she said,
“He’s in trouble… they’re both in a lot of trouble – the most trouble since we’ve met the Tyrells.
“She has lost control a bit… we see a whole new side to her. She hadn’t got the reigns anymore.”
