Beyoncé day is now a thing in America
Queen B is slaying the world starting in Minnesota, where the 23rd of May is now Beyoncé day.
Governor Mark Dayton announced the state wide day just a few hours before the ‘Crazy in Love’ singer kicked off her Minneapolis leg of the Formation tour.
Although the concert was forced to start late due to stormy weather, that didn’t stop the Governor issuing a State of Minnesota decree along with his official seal.
The decree notes that Beyoncé deserves the day because of her numerous music and business awards, as well as her powerful and positive messages for female empowerment.
The singer has also been causing storms in the music world. At the last Superbowl, Beyoncé performed Formation – a performance reminiscent of Malcolm X and the black panther movement. The show actually caused people to protest.
More recently she took the world by it’s shoulders with her delightful visual album, Lemonade. The album which explores themes of unfaithful marriage, scorned lovers and female empowerment is a beautifully cinematic piece.
The album nearly broke twitter after the Beyhive went crazy, trying to hunt down “Becky with the good hair”, who many assumed Jay Z was cheating with.
Forbes magazine named Beyoncé as one of the 100 most powerful women last year and Beyoncé day is just another step towards the singer actually running the world.
The official statement said: “Beyoncé has influenced many young girls and women with powerful, positive messages in her songs. Thousands of Minnesotans will gather at TFC Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on Monday, May 23rd, 2016, to hear, Beyoncé perform.”
Recently, Adele announced that she thought Queen B was the “actual messiah” and the new Army Secretary Eric Fanning, quoted her as he started his new job.
