Bomb set off in a Target women’s bathroom amid trans ‘boycott’
An explosion has occurred in a Target superstore in a women’s bathroom – after controversy over the store’s trans-friendly policy.
The anti-LGBT American Family Association has led a sustained high-profile boycott in recent weeks due to Target’s trans-friendly bathroom policy.
Since the action began, a string of protesters have taken to disrupting Target stores directly – with one woman waved a Bible while warning customers “the devil will rape your children”, a man speaking out against homosexual “abominations”, and an incident that sparked an ‘active shooter’ lockdown.
According to local news outlet WGNTV, a small bomb exploded in the women’s bathroom at a Target store in Evanston, Illinois.
The news station reports that no-one was harmed in the explosion, which occured yesterday afternoon.
The station reports: “It caused minor damage and no one was injured. Early indications are that a plastic bottle was used but no projectiles like nails or tacks were inside it. Investigators are gathering evidence including examining store security camera video.”
It is unclear if the bomb is connected to the ongoing protests.

However, the AFA has claimed it has caused $10 billion worth of damage to the company, claiming that as a result of the boycott “Target’s stock has fallen 20 percent”.
