Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am responds to praise for queer-inclusive song lyrics

Singer will.i.am has responded to praise for his latest single because it features lyrics appearing to include queer relationships.
The star features with Pia Mia on ‘Boys and Girls’.
The song features lyrics which appear to be inclusive of same-sex relationships: “girls wanna play with girls, boys wanna play with boys.”
Speaking to Digital Spy, he said: “That song is for all types of people.
“I was really talking about tennis, and basketball, and football, y’know because boys play with boys on the field, and girls be playing tennis with each other hitting the ball back and forth,” he said.
“But yeah definitely. People have been showing love.
A new solo album will be released by will.i.am later this year.
