UPDATED: Man who sent heartbreaking text to mother during Orlando shooting confirmed dead

Eddie Jamoldroy Justice messaged his mother as the mass shooting took place.

Messages were sent by some of the approximately 320 people who were in the Orlando club when the shooting began.

One of them was Eddie Jamoldroy Justice, 30, who text his mother, Mina, from the clubā€™s toilets.

In the conversation the man told her: ā€œIā€™m gonna dieā€.

ā€œMommy I love you. In club they shooting,ā€ to which she replied: ā€œU okā€. He then writes: ā€œTrapp [sic] in bathroomā€.

When Mina asks ā€œwhat clubā€, the man wrote a number of messages, replying: ā€œIā€™m gonna dieā€.

She briefly talked to him on the phone minutes earlier.

ā€œI could hear a lot of people cryingā€ in the background, she told the local Fox TV station.

The mom said her son hurriedly told her, ā€œHe has us, and heā€™s fixinā€™ to kill us.ā€

ā€œThat was it,ā€ she added.

During her interview, Mina was still unaware of her sonā€™s fate ā€“ despite saying she a ā€œvery bad feelingā€.

Her worst fears were later confirmed, as it was revealed the her son was among the victims.

At least 50 people were killed and 53 were injured in the attack.

With more than a hundred now confirmed dead or injured, the mass shooting has become the worst in American history.

Omar Mateen was named as the shooter in the incident which killed at least 50.

As of this morning (June 13), the city of Orlando had began releasing the names of victims on its website.
