UPDATED: Man who sent heartbreaking text to mother during Orlando shooting confirmed dead

Eddie Jamoldroy Justice messaged his mother as the mass shooting took place.

Messages were sent by some of the approximately 320 people who were in the Orlando club when the shooting began.

One of them was Eddie Jamoldroy Justice, 30, who text his mother, Mina, from the club’s toilets.

In the conversation the man told her: “I’m gonna die”.

“Mommy I love you. In club they shooting,” to which she replied: “U ok”. He then writes: “Trapp [sic] in bathroom”.

When Mina asks “what club”, the man wrote a number of messages, replying: “I’m gonna die”.

She briefly talked to him on the phone minutes earlier.

“I could hear a lot of people crying” in the background, she told the local Fox TV station.

The mom said her son hurriedly told her, “He has us, and he’s fixin’ to kill us.”

“That was it,” she added.

During her interview, Mina was still unaware of her son’s fate – despite saying she a “very bad feeling”.

Her worst fears were later confirmed, as it was revealed the her son was among the victims.

At least 50 people were killed and 53 were injured in the attack.

With more than a hundred now confirmed dead or injured, the mass shooting has become the worst in American history.

Omar Mateen was named as the shooter in the incident which killed at least 50.

As of this morning (June 13), the city of Orlando had began releasing the names of victims on its website.
