Donald Trump claims Clinton victory will lead to mass murder of gays
Republican Presidential hopeful Donald Trump has claimed he is a ‘real friend’ of the LGBT community – and that a Hillary Clinton victory in November would lead to mass murder of gay people.
50 people were killed and 53 injured yesterday in the shocking terrorist hate crime attack, which saw a gunman open fire inside The Pulse gay bar in Orlando, Florida.
ISIS has since claimed responsibility for the attack, which was perpetrated by US citizen Omar Mateen. The majority of the victims were Latino.
In a new speech today, Donald Trump – who opposes transgender rights, would appoint justices to repeal equal marriage and opposes federal anti-discrimination protections – claimed he is a ‘real friend’ of LGBT people and said a victory for Hillary Clinton would lead to the deaths of more gays.
He said: “That is the choice I put before the American people: a mainstream immigration policy designed to benefit America, or Hillary Clinton’s radical immigration policy designed to benefit politically-correct special interests.
“Ask yourself, who is really the friend of women and the LGBT community, Donald Trump with his actions, or Hillary Clinton with her words? Clinton wants to allow Radical Islamic terrorists to pour into our country—they enslave women, and murder gays.”
“Hillary Clinton can never claim to be a friend of the gay community as long as she continues to support immigration policies that bring Islamic extremists to our country who suppress women, gays and anyone who doesn’t share their views.”
Despite his own policies, the Republican added: “I refuse to allow America to become a place where gay people, Christian people, and Jewish people, are the targets of persecution and intimidation by Radical Islamic preachers of hate and violence.”
“Our nation stands together in solidarity with the members of Orlando’s LGBT Community.”
Trump has already caused controversy on the issue, suggesting that President Obama is complicit in the deaths because “he doesn’t get it or he gets it better than anyone understands.”
