A Danish artist has had a recent controversial tweet by Liam Gallagher tattooed onto his leg.

Kasper NĆørlund has spent the past few years getting celebritiesā€™ deleted tweets inked to his body as part of his ongoing Tweettoo art project.

The artistā€™s latest ā€˜additionā€™ is a tweet from former Oasis frontman Gallagher, who was accused of homophobia last week following a tweet to Russian football fans.

ā€œRussian hooligans skintight shorts bumbags batty boy muscles ha ha Iā€™d be more worried bout getting me arse pinched,ā€ he wrote.

ā€œIt is not a personal attack at Liam Gallagher,ā€ NĆørlund explained to The Sun.

ā€œIf a celebrity tweets a statement that he or she then for some reason deletes, it qualifies for my Tweettoo project.ā€

ā€œThe Tweettoo Project is a work-in-progress art project that explores the powerful combination of celebrity and social media,ā€ he added.

ā€œAnyone can thoughtlessly say offensive things they regret but when you do it on the internet it will stay there forever.

ā€œLike a tattoo. Combine this with an audience of 1 million followers and you have a situation that could easily get out of control.ā€

As well as Gallagher, NĆørlund has also had tattoos of deleted tweets by singers Justin Bieber and Justin Timberlake.

Following a backlash from fellow Twitter users ā€“ who branded him a ā€œhomophobic foolā€ for making the comments following last weekā€™s mass shooting in Orlando ā€“ Gallagher apologised for the statement.

He wrote: ā€œIf Iā€™ve upset anybody with my tweets I apologise that includes you RKID as you were LG x (sic)ā€

ā€œRKIDā€ refers to his brother Noel Gallagher, with who he has feuded for years.

50 people were killed and 53 injured in the shocking terrorist hate crime attack last week, which saw a gunman open fire inside The Pulse gay bar in Orlando, Florida.
