Which age group has the best gay sex? The result may surprise you…
A new survey has revealed some surprising facts about the sex lives of gay and bi men.
It seems sexual satisfaction seems to grow with age, as a new survey has revealed that gay and bi men aged over 65 are the happiest with their sex lives
According to the biggest sex survey of gay and bi men in England, middle-aged men are the least happiest with their sex lives, while those 65 and older are more fulfilled than those in their 20s and 30s.
70% of those aged 65+ said they were sexually satisfied, along with 64% of those aged between 60-64.
The younger generation also seem to be enjoying themselves in the bedroom, with at least 60% those aged between 15 and 29 saying they were happy with their sexual activity.
The most common reason given for people unhappy with their sex life was a lack of boyfriend, partner or lover.
People also felt they were not having enough sex with their current partner or wanted more sexual partners.
This may explain why happiness was lacking most in gay and bi men aged 35-55, as middle-aged men said that although they have a high desire for sex, they also have less access to it.
The study of 15,360 men was conducted by Sigma Research, who worked with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine on behalf of UK sexual health charity Terrence Higgins Trust.
The results also found that 77% of gay and bisexual men have been tested for HIV, up from 72% in 2010, with 55% being tested in the past 12 months, up from 36% four year earlier.
However, a quarter of gay and bi men said they had never had an HIV test and a third of sexually active gay men said they’d had unprotected anal sex with at least one non-steady partner in the past 12 months.
Earlier this week, PinkNews got under the sheets with the managers of London’s sex shops to talk about the sex trends of 2016 – and the results may surprise you.
