NSYNC’s Lance Bass says his music may not be played because he’s gay
Lance Bass has opened up about his solo career… and considered why it never took off.
The singer released his single ‘Walking on Air’ with Snoop Dogg in 2014, but it failed to chart in the US.
Talking to Page Six, the former member of popular boyband NSYNC has shared his thoughts on why it flopped.
“It went No. 1 everywhere… except America,” he explained. “The radio stations wouldn’t play my songs… I don’t know if it’s because I’m gay or if it’s because I’m from NSYNC, but the politics around it is so crazy and I don’t care to deal with that [bleep].”
Bass, who tied the knot with partner of four years Michael Turchin in 2014, added: “I’m not 18 anymore, so I do [music] for fun. I go where I’m needed and wanted — and right now, that’s television.”

Late last year, Bass claimed that he and the rest of NSYNC were “inappropriately touched” by someone who used worked with them.
The popstar has also previously discussed his coming out story, saying he was “bullied” into it by “bloggers like Perez Hilton”.
Bass came out in 2006, and the 35-year-old said in 2013 on Ricki Lake that he was scared that if he had done so during the NSYNC years, he would have “completely ruined” the band.
