20 years after ‘Wannabe’, the ‘Spice Girls’ have a new single
This is not a drill! 20 years after the hit single ‘Wannabe’, the Spice Girls are to release a new single.
Although the single will not include Posh or Sporty, Emma Bunton (Baby), Geri Horner (Ginger) and Melanie Brown (Scary) have released an online video to thank fans for the past two decades.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain, the group’s producer also confirmed the three women have been back in the studio to record new material and may even perform a reunion concert (oh, please be true).
Eliot Kennedy told the programme: “We have been in the studio, with just three of them – Mel B and Geri and Emma – and we had a fantastic couple of days.
“We wrote a brilliant song and the energy was exactly like it was 20 years ago, just as enthusiastic, just as much to say, just as much to celebrate.”

It is believed that the one off concert could take place in July 2017 at Hyde Park.
When asked about the comeback gig, Eliot added: “I think it’s a great time, it’s 20 years, that’s a serious amount of time and they’ve had such a massive influence on women around the world.
“America’s likely to have a woman president, we’re going to have another woman prime minister – women rock!”
In a hint to the possible comeback, the video ends with the message: “We hope to tell you soon what you want, what you really, really want.”
Any performance is likely to only feature three of the group, as Victoria Beckham has already ruled herself out and Melanie Chisholm said she wants to focus on her solo career.
