Bianca Jagger apologises after posting homophobic list of pro-Iraq war politicians
The human rights advocate shared an article listing MPs as ‘criminals’ and ‘openly homosexual’.
Bianca Jagger has apologised after tweeting a link to a list of MPs that voted for the Iraq War, which described some MPs as “openly homosexual”, “negro” and “jewess”.
The human rights advocate also uploaded a link to the Metapedia webpage on her Facebook profile, in a bid to support current Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, who is currently facing a coup from his fellow MPs.
The page lists all of the politicians who voted in favour of the Iraq War under the heading ‘Criminal’, alongside their constituency and a number of xenophobic descriptions.
The site sees Labour MP Chris Bryant described as an infamous homosexual exhibitionist, brags about loving “rimming” and “fisting”, with other MPs from across the political spectrum – including Labour’s Angela Eagle and Conservative MPs Crispin Blunt and Nigel Evans – listed as “openly homosexual”.
Metapedia describes itself the ‘alternative encyclopaedia’ and was founded in 2006 by ‘neo-Nazi’ Anders Lagerström.
Jagger was quick to apologise for sharing the article, saying she was “mortified” and “terribly sorry”.
“I didn’t carefully read the content of the website, I thought it was a straight forward list, not a racist, homophobic and disgusting list,” she wrote.
“I’m mortified, I thought it was a list of members of Parliament who voted against the war in Iraq. You all know I am against racism, bigotry,” she added.
The former actress is the founder of the Bianca Jagger Human Rights Foundation which is “dedicated to defending human rights, ending violence against women and girls, addressing the threat of climate change, supporting the rights of indigenous peoples and defending the rights of future generations”.
She was also very vocal in her criticism on the EU referendum campaign for what she saw as fuelling racism in the UK.
