People can’t actually handle this sand sculpture mermaid’s breasts
Residents of this town in American really can’t handle a pair of breasts – as demonstrated to a reaction to a sand sculpture.
The sculpture of a mermaid, one of 41 sand sculptures, appeared in Yarmouth, Massachusetts to celebrate summer.
The mermaid has been the subject of body-shamers, and complainers, who have apparently complained to police about its almost bare chest.
Local police chief Frank Frederickson, told Cape Cod News, that a photo of the sculpture, posted to a police Twitter account had “conflicted with some people”.
It was taken down “due to complaints”.
It was in front of Salty’s Seafood restaurant.
The sculpture, as some have pointed out, does not even show nipple, as she is wearing shells for a bra.
Raymond Roy, the owner of Salty’s commissioned the piece, which he defended to CBS Boston.
He said: “I felt that nobody knows what a mermaid looks like.”
“Nobody’s ever seen a mermaid, and I wanted something totally different.”
Roy added that he did not have plans to remove the sculpture, and that he even bring her back next year – with an even bigger bosom.
