Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey apologises for pretending to come out as gay on Snapchat
Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey has has apologised after he confused as he appeared to come out as gay on Snapchat, saying he is not.
In a video posted on Friday the actor films a street sign for Gay Street, and proclaims “I am this, and this is me. I’ve never felt more alive!… I’m gay!”
But he has now taken to Twitter to deny that he is gay, apologising for causing offence to some for pretending to come out.
He writes: “I am a big proponent of love over hate, and standing together during divisive times.”
Adding: “Although I’m not gay, I fully support the LGBTQ community. This was a moment intended to reflect that.”
In a third tweet he says: “And everyone, I am truly sorry to the people I’ve offended or lessened how big coming out is. I just want to spread love in this world.”
Representatives for the actor who rose to fame after playing J Lo’s on-screen son in Maid in Manhattan, had already denied that he came out as gay.

An MTV communications department staff member told Fusion that they believed Posey meant gay “in the context of ‘I’m happy,’ not as a coming out.”
Fans naturally took to social media to speculate on the meaning behind the video.
Some have been quick to call him out for “mocking” the LGBT community with the tone of the video. Others just want him to clarify what he meant in the video.
One Twitter user wrote: “If Tyler Posey was lying about being gay, the way he was doing it felt kind of like he was mocking us? And I’m not down for that.”
In a second video, Posey filmed a lamp saying: “look at that thing… Ah man, am I happy! I’ve never felt more like me than I do now! I’m lamp!”

At least two of Posey’s Teen Wolf co-stars have come out as gay in recent years.
Colton Haynes wrote a post on Tumblr in January which left fans with a lot of questions and appeared to confirm that he was gay.
He later confirmed that he is gay in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
Their co-star Charlie Carver previously came out as gay.
