This judge called a ‘racist thug’ a ‘bit of a c**t’ and now the racist wants to get her in trouble

A judge who called a man who shouted obscenities at her a “bit of a c**t”, could be in hot water as the man, described as a “racist thug” has made a complaint about her.

Judge Patricia Lynch QC was praised by many after clapping back at the man John Hennigan who hurled abuse at her as she handed down a jail sentence.

Hennigan, as he was being jailed for his ninth breach of anti-social behaviour order in 11 years, went on a tirade, calling Justice Lynch “a bit of a c**t”.

But the judge hit back, calling the 50-year-old “a bit of a c**t yourself. Being offensive to me does not help.”

Then, Hennigan, apparently unwilling to give up, shouted: “Go f**k yourself”, to which Justice Lynch replied: “You too”.

The man, described by Twitter user Stan Keaton as a “racist thug” was jailed for 18 months.

He had been charged with making racist slurs toward a black mother in Harlow, Essex.

But despite being widely celebrated, the judge will now be investigated after a complaint was made about her to the Judicial Conduct Investigations Office.

The JCIO handles complaints about judges in and out of court.

A spokesman said: “The JCIO has received complaints regarding HHJ (Her Honour Judge) Patricia Lynch’s comment in court which will be considered in accordance with the Judicial Conduct (Judicial and other office holders) Rules 2014.”

Judge Lynch’s fans, however; took to Twitter to show their appreciation.

One man wrote: “Judge Patricia Lynch, a nation salutes you.”

Another added: “Hats off to Judge Patricia Lynch. I think it was a reasonable response given the vile racist in front of her.”

While another posted: “It is a bit hard to give children role models nowadays but Judge Patricia Lynch QC is definitely one.”
