Tom Daley concerned as diving pool closed after mysteriously turning green at Rio 2016
Tom Daley has voiced his concern after the diving pool at Rio 2016 which turned green has now been closed.
Pictures of the water in the diving pool led to a mass speculation as to the dramatic change in colour earlier this week.
But after a spokesman saying that there was “no risk whatsoever” to the divers using the pool, it has now bee closed.
Tom Daley – who won a bronze medal with Daniel Goodfellow earlier this week – shared an image of the pool on Twitter.
“Ermmm…what happened?!” Daley wrote, and later added that the pool had been closed.
Officials had added that the cause of the colour change was still being investigated.
The pool continued to turn an even darker colour during the women’s synchronised diving finals at the Maria Lenk Aquatic Centre on Tuesday
Meanwhile, British divers Daley and Goodfellow had plenty to celebrate after winning the bronze medal in the men’s synchronised 10m platform dives.
They scored a total of 444.45 points, finishing third behind China and the US.
The Olympics has also seen a lesbian rugby player get engaged and a married same-sex couple compete together for the first time.
A Brazilian gold medal-winning athlete also publicly came out as gay at the games.
