This priest fired a contractor after he complained about getting his penis pics
Monsignor Lawrence McGovern sacked a contractor after he sent him unsolicited pictures of his penis and the man complained.
The Californian priest, who has now been suspended, sent the d*ck pics to the church’s pool maintenance man and then dismissed him when he rebuffed the unwarranted advances.
Msgr McGovern was removed from his position as pastor of Presentation Parish when the unnamed father of two, who is also a parishioner, filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against the diocese.
It’s reported that when the victim confronted the priest over his vow of celibacy, he said: “Oh, that just means that you’re not married.”
In other news:
Vince Finaldi, the lawyer bring the case forward on behalf of the contractor, said: “It’s extremely disturbing that the person who is head of this parish would be sending photographs of his exposed genitals.
“Someone’s who’s engaging in that type of conduct has very, very serious credibility issues and issues with judgement.”
The diocese claimed that it was unaware of any misconduct by Msgr McGovern until they received the lawsuit.
It confirmed that he had been placed on administrative leave, pending a “complete investigation”.
Mr Finaldi added that Msgr McGovern had “no business being in a parish and head of a school where numerous young children” walk around and called on the diocese to fire him.
