Watch: These X Factor hopefuls had a very emotional row about chicken
The world was captivated this weekend by a very emotional row about undercooked chicken.
X Factor hopefuls Ottavio Columbro and Bradley Hunt had intended to audition for the reality singing contest together – but were torn asunder by a feud about chicken.
Dressed as a skimpy toy soldier, 24-year-old Ottavio entered the audition room alone, performing Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’.
However, he was stopped mid-performance, before confessing: “I auditioned with my friend Bradley, and we had a massive argument over chicken.
“He cooked me some chicken, and when he gave it to me, it’s all pink. I don’t want salmonella! But I really miss him.”
Explaining his side of the story during his audition, a star-covered Bradley said: “I made chicken, I didn’t leave it in long enough because I was hungry, but when I have it him… like, he could have said thanks though still. I know it was undercooked but I still tried.”
However, after his performance of R Kelly’s Ignition failed to ignite the room, the judges insisted on the pair healing their rift and performing together.
Happily, the pair opted to kiss and make up.
Returning to audition together with the Pussycat Dolls song Buttons, they won over judges Sharon Osborne, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger, winning a place in the next round.
And leaving half the viewing public wondering what the hell they just watched.
Appearing on This Morning today, the pair confirmed that they are just friends – but bicker like an old couple.
Ottavio said: “The chicken pushed me over the edge. We bicker quite a lot, the banter is like our energy drink.”
