Thug facing federal charge after threatening attack ‘bigger than Orlando’
A man who threatened to attack gay bars in Wilton Manors, Florida has been arrested and faces a federal charge.
A man by the name of Craig Jungwirth caused alarm last week when he took to Facebook to claim he was planning an attack bigger than the Orlando massacre.
He posted: “If you losers thought the Pulse Nightclub shooting was bad, wait ’til you see what I’m planning for Labor Day.
“I’m gonna be LOLing you fags faster than cops kill n****rs. It’s time to clean up Wilton Manors from all you AIDS-infested losers.”
Police had initially warned anyone who come into contact with Jungwirth to exercise “extreme caution”, while bars in the local area took up extra precautions.
Jungwirth was on Saturday, initially on an unrelated charge of driving on an expired license, .
However he is now also facing a federal charge which prohibits sending “any communication containing any threat to kidnap any person or any threat to injure the person of another.”
According to the Orlando Sun-Sentinel, Jungwirth is being held in the Seminole County Jail and is expected to make his initial appearance Tuesday in federal court in Orlando.
Nick Berry, owner of Rumors Bar and Grill, said he had encountered Jungwirth in the past over a vandalism incident, and took the threats seriously.
He said: “He wants to do bigger than the Orlando massacre and he wants to come down here and do it in Wilton Manors.
“I kind of know that this guy could have it in him to do this. I believe he has some mental issues.
“To post something like that, you have to be mentally deranged.”
Jungwirth already has a long criminal record and a number of restraining orders.
