This body positivity campaigner and model is apparently youngest bearded woman in the world
A model has been named by the Guinness World Records as the youngest woman in the world to have a full beard.
Harnaam Kaur, 24, from Slough, Berkshire was named as such by Guinness World Records.
The body positivity campaigner maintains her beard as part of a journey to overcome bullying she dealt with in her younger years over her appearance.
“Now with a beard measuring as long as six inches in places, she overcame years of bullying to take ownership of her appearance and achieve this record title at the age of 24 years 282 days,” her record citation reads.
“I am super proud to hold this record,” Kaur wrote on Instagram. “The inner child in me is so pleased. I grew up reading [The Guinness World Records book] – I even tried breaking some of my own records wanting to be in this book. It is amazing to be valued and celebrated being a Bearded Lady.”
It is unclear whether the Guiness World record is exclusively measured on the beards of cisgender women.
She has a hormonal condition, polycystic ovary syndrome, which can lead to the growth of facial hair.
Earlier this year she became the first bearded female model to walk the runway at London Fashion Week.
Kaur is joined in the Guiness World Records list by new entries for the longest pet cat and the llama that can jump the highest.
