Cher: Trump is ‘an a**hole’ and ‘will put an end to any hope’
Cher has warned that Trump will regress LGBT and women’s rights if he gets into office.
The 70 year old spoke at the One Young World Summit on a discussion panel about the future of America if Trump were to become president.
The queen of pop warned that the people he would bring with him to the Oval would “put an end to gay marriage, put an end to gay adoption.”
She also warned that his office would “put any end to any hope that women have of getting the rights that we had.”
“They will put an end to so many services that we do for the old, the young and the starving,” she added.
The singer warned that America will “change” and “suffer” for 40 years – with millennials suffering the worst of a Trump government.
She oscar winner said: “It’s not going to hurt me. I’m 70, it’s not going to do anything to me but it’s going to do stuff to young people. That scares me and it really bothers me because he just doesn’t care.”
Talking about the GOP she said: “They’re not the government of the people and how he’s been able to align himself as one of the people is just amazing.”
“What he’s awakened in my country is bigotry and distrust and a certain kind of supremacy in certain groups.”
Bob Geldof and former UN secretary general Kofi Annan joined Cher at the four day long event.
Justin Trudeau also spoke at the event and praised the younger generation for being so politically engaged.
“Your generation is politically engaged, educated, innovative, inclusive and progressive. You need to harness that potential to make the world a better place and I know that every person here tonight it committed to doing just that in one way or another,” he said.
She also compared the Republican nominee to Hitler in a twitter offensive, and declared that “her people” wont vote for him.
A poll conducted by Grindr found that Trump was bottom of the favourites in November’s Presidential election.
