‘Orange is the New Black’ star Laura Prepon announces engagement
Orange is the New Black star Laura Prepon has announced her engagement.
The actor who plays Alex Vause in the hit Netflix series is actually engaged to her male partner Ben Foster, some OITNB fans may be disappointed to hear. Foster proposed after the couple got together in the summer, reports TMZ.
Prepon debuted her ring on the red carpet of the Girl on the Train premiere in New York City this week.
She is not the first OITNB star to get engaged this week, however; as star Samira Wiley, who played Poussay on the series, delighted fans of the show – who may still be recovering from her recent exit – by announcing her engagement to writer Lauren Morelli this week.
Wiley – who played popular Poussey Washington – posted a picture of the pair Instagram. The post featured a sparkling ring and the word “Yes”.
OITNB remains popular with fans and critics alike, winning countless awards since it began in 2013.
The pair fell in love on the set of the Netflix hit, after Morelli realised she was gay just days after joining the show in 2014.
She later opened up about the “terrifying” symmetry between lead character Piper’s journey and her own.
Congratulations to both the happy couples!
Netflix recently renewed its most-watched original series for three more seasons.
Jenji Kohan will remain in charge of the hit comedy-drama for its fifth, sixth and seventh run.
