Hate preacher who called for gay men to be killed teaching in the UK
An Islamic hate preacher who called for gay men to be beheaded and burned has begun lecturing in London.
Shaykh Hamza Sodagar will deliver a series of talks at the Islamic Republic of Iran school in the capital until mid-October.
The American-born ‘preacher’ describes himself as a “role model for young Muslims all around the world” but according to the Mirror, he features in a video listing five different ways gay men should be killed.
It’s reported that in the video, he said: “If there’s homosexual men, the punishment is one of five things.
“One – the easiest one maybe – chop their head off, that’s the easiest. Second – burn them to death.
“Third – throw ’em off a cliff. Fourth – tear down a wall on them so they die under that. Fifth – a combination of the above.”
Sodagar has spent around 14 years in Iran studying Islamic law, having been born and raised in Washington DC.
Peter Tatchell, a campaigner on LGBT rights, has urged Home Secretary Amber Rudd to revoke his visa immediately.
“In a free society, Hamza Sodagar has a right to believe that homosexuality is sinful but not to preach about ways to kill lesbians and gay men,” he said.
“Many people with far less extreme views, who have never advocated violence, have been banned from entering the UK.
“Calling for death to LGBT people crosses a red line. The Home Office was wrong to grant him a visa and should now revoke it.”
Christian hate preacher Steven Anderson, who has also called for gays to be executed and celebrated the Orlando massacre, was recently banned from entering a number of countries due to his extreme views.
Anderson also recently had a tantrum over LGBT people where he jumped on his pulpit and claimed it “was war”.
