Michael Moore has made a surprise Donald Trump documentary
Controversial documentary-maker Michael Moore has revealed a surprise last-minute project: a film about Donald Trump’s election campaign.
Michael Moore in TrumpLand was only announced today, and screens for the first time at New York City’s IFC Center tonight, before a US cinema release from October 19th.
The film started life as a one-man stage show, which Moore intended to perform in Ohio. The performance never went ahead, and Moore claimed he was “banned” because officials there consider him too controversial.
The theatre in turn claimed the decision was based on several factors, including a short time frame.
The film’s official synopsis reads: “See the film Ohio Republicans tried to shut down.
“Oscar-winner Michael Moore dives right into hostile territory with his daring and hilarious one-man show, deep in the heart of TrumpLand in the weeks before the 2016 election.”
He teased the new film on Twitter with a photo from the editing room, showing a still including Trump’s three children.

Moore’s most recent film, Where to Invade Next, came out this June, but Moore refused to screen it in North Carolina following the state’s anti-LGBT bill HB2.
