Michelle Visage just helped a struggling gay teen find a roof for the night
RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Michelle Visage has used her Twitter influence to help a gay teen who was kicked out by his parents.
The 18-year-old from Elizabethtown, Kentucky, reached out to Visage after he was kicked out by his parents for coming out as gay.
“Tell me it gets better,” he asked her.
She was quick to reach out to her 291,000 Twitter followers to find someone who lived in the area to help him out.

Plenty of her followers were quick to jump in with offers to put him up for a night, give him advice, or recommend shelters that could help him. Luckily, he ended up somewhere safe for the night.
Update: Jake is safely at a friend’s place and he’s keeping me updated. He’s assured me he’s safe. Bless you all for helping

Even more impressively though, her help might have even managed to land Jake a job.
@mvcanales @michellevisage just heard back. I have secured a job opportunity for him in Elizabethtown if he needs it.

This isn’t the first time she’s fought to help members of the LGBT community of course, and she’s been an LGBT rights advocate since the 1980s.
Earlier this year she hit out at rapper Azealia Banks for her use of the word ‘faggot’, and has also publicly criticised her Celebrity Big Brother housemates Katie Hopkins and Perez Hilton.
Best of all? Despite all that, and her latest good deed, she’s still pretty modest about it all:
I’m so touched by the kind words but honestly I don’t deserve them. I only did what any one of you would do!!! We are in this together
