Jodie Foster will direct an episode of Netflix series ‘Black Mirror’
Jodie Foster will direct an episode of Black Mirror, the hit Netflix series.
Foster will join creator Charlie Brooker on the fourth season to direct an episode which will air next year.
Rosemarie DeWitt will feature in the episode Foster is set to direct.
Brooker took to Twitter to confirm the news ahead of the release of Season 3 of the show which was released this morning in the UK.
The series has just moved from Channel 4 across to Netflix.
Foster will draw experience from directing episodes the of Netflix Original shows Orange Is The New Black and House of Cards.
Many have celebrated the show which has been likened to a modern day Twilight Zone.
The Oscar winner has won best Actress for Silence of the Lambs and was nominated for best supporting actress in Taxi Driver.
She acknowledged her sexuality at the Golden Globes in 2013 in her acceptance speech for the Cecil B. DeMille lifetime achievement award.
The speech was a nod to the fact that her sexuality was something of an open secret in Hollywood. She hadn’t actively tried to conceal it, but she didn’t flaunt it, either.
Foster married her partner, photographer Alexandra Hedison in early 2014.
Created by Charlie Brooker, Black Mirror debuted on the Channel 4 in 2011. The first two seasons consisted of three episodes each, and there was an additional Christmas special that aired in 2014.
In 2015, Netflix picked up the show and 12 additional episodes were broken up into two seasons of six episodes each. Season 4 will shoot later this year and premiere in 2017.
