Stonewall Season launches next week, celebrating LGBT life and culture while highlighting the challenges the community still face.

The Stonewall Season – in partnership with Visa – is a festival of events hosted by Stonewall and its friends, supporters and partners across Britain.

Launching next Tuesday November until November 10, the Stonewall Season will celebrate LGBT life and culture.

The Season will feature a range of exciting events – from film screenings, to panel discussions, club nights – with the rights charity announcing details of the closing event this week.

The warehouse party aims to encapsulate the theme of the festival, as the charity attempts to use Stonewall Season to create a real, contemporary move for change throughout the UK.

Tanner Warehouse is based on Bermondsey Street, and the charity aims to use the space to showcase an art exhibition from over 60 artists – including fashion’s Gareth Pugh, Years & Years’ frontman Olly Alexander and renowned artists Marc Quinn and Maggi Hambling.

Each piece is centred around the theme ‘By your side’ (the campaigning group’s current inclusion campaign), and guests will be able to bid on the pieces in a live auction on the night.

You can even bid without attending the event in its silent auction.

Music will be provided by Gok Wan and Jodie Harsh and guests will even be treated to a whiskey tornado.

Experimental food wizards Bompass & Parr will be providing the fun, frolics and food on the night, with a whiskey tornado for guests to ‘take shots’ form.

Edible, floating glitter will also be available, as well as liquid nitrogen ice cream

During Stonewall Season, 70+ diverse events will take place across 15 cities and towns, all with the shared goal of celebrating life and culture.

The Closing Celebration may signify the end of the festival – reflecting on the challenges that lie ahead – but the campaigning group says Stonewall Season is just the beginning of the continued work we must undertake to work toward full equality for LGBT people.
