Cher denies she is dating Caitlyn Jenner
Reps for Cher have denied that the star is dating Caitlyn Jenner, after a tabloid rumour.
The rumour first began circulated after being reported in the trashy supermarket tabloid the National Enquirer.
The rag branded the pair “Tinseltown’s new odd couple”, claiming that they were reviving a romance from the 1970s.
It claimed: “Cher is hoping she and Caitlyn Jenner can rekindle an old connection — this time as lesbians!”
However, Cher’s reps poured cold water on the claim in a statement to Gossip Cop.
The site reports that a spokesperson for Cher “laughed off the tale as untrue”, adding that “the allegations that she and Jenner had a fling back in the day are fabricated, as well”.
As far as the National Enquirer’s unhealthy obsession with Cher goes this is towards the milder end, having spent several years prophesying the singer’s demise.
The outlet has published numerous front-pages fixated on the gay icon’s health, claiming in 2014 that she had just 3 months to live.
In 2015, they claimed Cher was celebrating her “last Christmas”.
Cher recently announced she will return to Las Vegas for a residency, but even taking to the stage as a performer hasn’t dissuaded the rag.
Just last month it ran the splash ‘Dying Cher turned me gay’.
To be fair, Cher turned many men gay – we’re just not sure the rest is accurate.
