US campaign to stop young LGBT people smoking wins national recognition
A marketing campaign specifically aimed at stopping young LGBT people from taking up smoking has won national recognition.
The ‘This Free Life’ campaign targets young members of the LGBT community because the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) believes they are nearly twice as likely to use tobacco as other young adults.
It won the American Association of National Advertisers’ Multicultural Excellence Award, which was issued at a ceremony in Los Angeles, California.
