Brad Pitt cleared of child abuse following custody loss
An investigation into whether Brad Pitt was violent towards one of his children has been closed.
The investigation was launched following a report that Pitt attacked 15-year-old son Maddox on the familyās private jet, but has now been closed by child investigative services.
However, sources close to the family say the decision by Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services will not change the current custody agreement between Pitt and his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie.
The couple reached a temporary agreement earlier this week, after it was revealed that Jolie would have full custody of the pairās six children ā with Pitt set to receive supervised, ātherapeutic visitsā from his offspring.
A representative for Jolie said the actress is ārelieved that the inquiry is over and that the custody arrangements in place will allow the children to healā.
Pittās camp declined comment, but it is believed the actor will now seek joint custody of his children when official divorce proceedings start.
Jolie filed for divorce earlier this year, due to irreconcilable differences and āfor the health of the familyā.
The pair were together for twelve years and married in August 2014 ā despite promising to wait until after same-sex marriage was legalised across the US.
The Hollywood pair have six adopted and biological children together ā including John Jolie-Pitt, also known as Shiloh.
Back in 2014, Jolie and Pitt announced their support for the ten-year-old to self-identify as male.
John attracted widespread attention when they appeared on the red carpet for Angelinaās film āUnbrokenā, wearing a tuxedo and with cropped hair.
However, the family have shown full support for Johnās right to explore their self-identification.
Back in 2010, Jolie said: āShe wants to be a boy. So we had to cut her hair. She likes to wear boysā everything. She thinks sheās one of the brothers.ā
