Homophobe vandalises gay couple’s car, spells ‘faggot’ wrong…

A homophobic vandal attacked a gay couple’s car, and completely misspelled their hate.

Victims of this badly spelled act of bigotry, Nik and Aaron McFarland, were confused to see the word ‘FAGET’ had been spray painted on their vehicle.

The couple from Ogden, Utah, were also shocked to see the threatening words ‘homo die’ and ‘fag’ (much easier to spell) written across their car.

Speaking to the Standard Examiner, the couple expressed their disgust and upset at the incident, but also conveyed how supportive their local community had been in rallying to help them.

“It’s really been unbelievable,” Aaron said. “The things people have done for us, it’s showed us that the good people far outweigh the bad ones. [Supporters have] been people from around the Ogden area, around the state, around the country — we even had someone from Australia reach out to us. And it’s been people from both sides of the political aisle, which I think is important to note.”

A ‘Help Erase Hate’ GoFundMe page has been set up to help pay for repainting costs, after Nik’s attempts to scrub off the vandal’s words damaged the original paint job.

On the GoFundMe page, Nik said the paint and illiteracy were annoying, but his husband’s feelings were of the utmost importance.

He said, “My paint job is ruined, but worst of all, my husband is shaken to the core. It’s his first time dealing with this kind of thing. I don’t know how to comfort him … because honestly my biggest annoyance is my paint job and the illiteracy. I love my husband so much! I just want to see him smile.”

Ogden Police have not identified any suspects in the case so far.
