Fetish club The Hoist to close its doors after 21 years of partying hard
Infamous London fetish club The Hoist will close its doors for good on December 11, after 21 years of catering to the extreme leather end of the fetish scene.
The Vauxhaull club is London’s longest-serving leather and fetish dress-code club, throwing kinky parties across two decades and attracting a diverse clientele.
A strict dress code of leather, uniform, rubber, industrial, skinhead or full sports kit is enforced at the club and all guests are required to wear boots and jock straps regardless of their outfit. Even on naked nights, the boots stay on.
The club will throw a “Last Bang” party on December 3 as part of their last hurrah.
Hoist’s owner Guy Irwin confirmed the closure when speaking to Gay Star News : “We haven’t been forced out of the venue and business hasn’t been bad. In fact, in recent weeks, business has been incredible.
“In all honesty, we opened The Hoist 21 years ago: it was going to originally be for just two years. That turned into seven years, and then 10, 12 and 15.
“Now, after 21 years, me and Kurt [his former partner] have simply had enough. We decided to do an ABBA – and go out at our peak! We wanted to go out on a high. We had a great 21 years but we’re happy to walk away.”
