Thousands call for husband of Ivanka Trump heckler to be fired
Thousands of people have signed an internet petition to call for the husband of a man who heckled Ivanka Trump to be fired.
Last week, Matt Lasner and his husband Dan Goldstein were removed from a Jet Blue flight after Mr Goldstein expressed displeasure at being on the flight with the President-elect’s daughter.
Mr Lasner, a writer and associate professor or Urban Studies at Hunter College in New York, is now subject to a change.org petition calling for his immediate removal.
With over 7,500 signatures, the petition stated Mr Lasner’s “conduct is a direct representation of Hunter College”.
It was started by a 24-year-old “conservative political activist and analyst” Brendan Bradley who described himself as an “atypical millennial”.
The petition added: “We believe his immature and cruel harassment of Ivanka Trump and her family at JFK airport should be met with disciplinary action.
“The fact that someone who would be involved in such conduct is teaching students is very troubling.
“We are petitioning that Hunter College take ACTION. Someone like Mr Lasner, who would harass a mother and her child simply trying to go about their day, does not deserve the honour of teaching.”
Since the incident occurred, Mr Lasner had his Twitter account suspended but has now had it reinstated.
Earlier this year, a former Apprentice contestant revealed Donald Trump could hardly believe a fellow competitor was gay because that meant he wouldn’t be attracted to Ivanka.
