Amazon’s virtual assistant Alexa goes wild with X-rated response to toddler
A little boy got a lot more than he bargained for when testing out Amazon’s virtual assistant.
A YouTube video captures the moment a tech-savvy family tests their brand new Amazon Dot, which allows voice-activated assistant Alexa to answer requests to play music, control smart home devices, search the internet, set alarms and read the news.
However, when a little boy asked Alexa to “play Digger Digger”, the assistant comes back with possibly the worst possible reply.
The device responds with a string of explicit pornographic terms.
To horrified screams from the rest of the family, Alexa responds: “You want to hear a station for: Porn detected porno ringtone hot chick amateur girl calling sexy f**k c**t sh*t sex c*ck p**sy anal dildo ringtones for Android?”
The dad can be heard screaming: “Alexa, STOP!” as the little boy is swiftly removed from earshot.
While some rushed to blame the glitch on Alexa reading dad’s search history, the mix-up actually appears to have occurred because the device somehow misheard the boy’s request – and matched “Digger Digger” with a track on Spotify with the title “Porn Detected! (Porno Ringtone Hot Chick Amateur Girl Calling Sexy F**k C**t Sh*t Sex C*ck P***y Anal Dildo Ringtones for Android)”
The inventively-titled track is actually part of a prank ringtone set.
