Romy Madley Croft from British band The xx announces engagement
Romy Madley Croft from The xx has announced her engagement to girlfriend Hannah Marshall.
Just weeks after the band announced that a new album was on itās way, the musician took to Instagram to reveal further good news.
Marshall, who is a British designer and visual artist, met the singer through her work with the band.
She has created stage outfits for the trio, and has also worked with Florence and the Machine, Janet Jackson, Jessie Ware, and more.
Croft wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of her an Marshall kissing: āLast night, a very special person asked me a very beautiful question….I said yes! ???????,ā
The band took to Facebook to debunk the use, and said that they āunconditionallyā support the right of same-sex couples to marry.
āIt has come to our attention that our music has been used without our permission in a promotional advert by the Croatian organisation āU ime obiteljiā,ā the statement posted on The xxās Facebook page said.
āWe wish to state that we didnāt, and would never, approve the use of our music by this organisation. To be clear, we unconditionally support the equal right to marriage regardless of sexuality.ā
