Masseur charged in murder of NYC gay club owner
A 23-year-old masseur has been charged in the murder of a well-known New York gay club owner.
Daquan King allegedly strangled 54-year-old Savyon Zabar, police have told the NY Daily News.
Authorities said Zabar was killed after a romantic encounter went awry.
The 54-year-old club owner was found face up on his bed in his West 81st St apartment by his two roommates.
King was identified as a suspect in the death early on but police found him on Friday
Zabar owned and managed the Latin gay club Escuelita on West 39th Street.
Sources told the New York Post that King had been “rubbing down” Zabar when he attacked the club owner.
King is expected to be arraigned at the Manhattan Criminal Court on Friday.
